Política exterior de la Santa Sede en el pontificado de Francisco: la relación con Turquía

Resumen

El escrutinio de la política exterior de la Santa Sede no suele ser sencillo. En el ejercicio de esta se ponen en práctica, inter alia, dos preceptos: el ecumenismo y el diálogo interreligioso. En este artículo, se examina cómo ocurre esto durante el Pontificado de Francisco hacia la República de Turquía para atacar el problema de la cristianofobia en el país. Al final, se demuestra que, si bien hay congruencia entre las palabras y las acciones de política exterior, desafortunadamente la cordialidad que se aprecia entre los líderes políticos y religiosos aún no permea a la ciudadanía turca.

Axel Oswaldo Martínez Ramírez, Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, México

Axel Oswaldo Martínez Ramírez es licenciado con Mención Honorífica de Excelencia en Relaciones Internacionales con concentración en Estudios Políticos por el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. Escribió ocasionalmente en Editorial E-dae acerca de política, cultura y sociedad; y trabajó en la Cámara Estadounidense de Comercio en México. Ha colaborado en proyectos de organizaciones como el Centro Internacional de Comercio y la Asociación Mexicana de Ciencias Políticas. Ha sido galardonado con la beca Fundación Telmex-Telcel (de la misma fundación) y la Beca Nacional del Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT). Fue miembro de la Red Mundial de Jóvenes Políticos en Ciudad de México y ha participado en concursos de debate. Actualmente estudia la Maestría en Estudios en Relaciones Internacionales en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
