El presente artículo versa sobre la mediación de la Santa Sede en el conflicto del Canal Beagle entre Chile y Argentina entre los años 1979-1984. La tesis de este artículo esque la aproximación teórica que reúne los elementos de análisis más compatibles con el rol de la Iglesia Católica en el conflicto del Beagle, corresponde a la visión idealista de la Teoría de las Relaciones Internacionales. Por tanto, este trabajo está organizado en dos ejes: 1) Subrayarlas principales tesis del paradigma idealista en las relaciones internacionales y de la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia, enfatizando la conexión de sentido entre ambas. 2) A partir de estas tesis,se focalizará en la problemática específica del rol papal en el conflicto.Downloads
