Prácticas religiosas en contextos de migración: El caso de los ecuatorianos en Milán

En el presente artículo se exploran las formas de participación de los migrantes ecuatorianos en Milán desde una perspectiva religiosa-cultural. En un primer momento se revisan las modificaciones que se ha producido dentro de la institución católica italiana a raíz de la llegada masiva de extranjeros a este país. En segundo lugar se analiza, cómo la comunidad migrante ecuatoriana ha logrado adaptar sus modos de vivir religioso en el lugar de recepción y cómo ha reconstruido sus prácticas religiosas del país de origen. También se revisan aquellos conflictos, tensiones y modos de relacionamiento asimétrico entre los migrantes en torno a la preparación de una fiesta religiosa así como las negociaciones con la sociedad receptora para alcanzar el reconocimiento social y hacer posible la legitimación de sus prácticas.
