Conversiones y vínculos religiosos en la migración de los Kichwa Otavalo

El presente artículo tiene por objeto introducir y mostrar la importancia del elemento religioso en los procesos migratorios contemporáneos. Para ello, se parte del estudio concreto de la migración kichwa otavala a Europa y, en concreto, se analizan las prácticas religiosas de una familia. El análisis nos enseña cómo, junto a otros factores, la pertenencia a una Iglesia o credo juega un papel relevante en el desarrollo del proceso migratorio de esta familia. Además, estas prácticas religiosas revelan cómo pueden generarse en la migración diferentes sentidos de pertenencia que conviven simultáneamente.
