Panorama sobre los estudios sobre la diversidad católica en México: apuntes para su reflexión

El presente artículo ofrece un recorrido por algunos de los estudios procedentes de la sociología y la antropología en el país que han tenido como objetivo el análisis de la diversidad y la heterodoxia católica. Para su exposición el texto se divide en dos partes atendiendo a un criterio de abordaje metodológico. En primer término se abordarán los estudios de corte cualitativo, realizados en los grupos católicos laicos y en segundo término los estudios realizados a través de exploraciones cuantitativas, en particular encuestas, y cuyo objetivo era identificar creencias, prácticas y pertenencia religiosa en ciertos grupos poblacionales Ambas aproximaciones sugieren análisis distintos y pero en conjunto, ofrecen miradas complementarias a la discusión.
