Este artículo pretende identificar los orígenes históricos de la llegada del pentecostalismo Asambleas de Dios a la ciudad de Cartagena de Indias entre los años de 1970 y 1972. Se considera inicialmente que esto responde una evolución religiosa enmarcada en una serie de transformaciones sociales, políticas y económicas en el contexto latinoamericano. Particularmente, en Cartagena, los orígenes se relacionan con la raíz pura del Pentecostalismo, consistente en iniciar predicando entre los marginados de una ciudad inequitativa y a la vez receptora de una amplia masa de campesinos desheredados y expulsados de un campo que cada vez tenía pocas expectativas de vida.Downloads
