Diversificación en el pentecostalismo contemporáneo chileno: un estudio de caso en sectores de altos ingresos

El presente artículo analiza los resultados obtenidos de una investigación empírica realizada en una iglesia evangélica en sectores de altos ingresos en la Región Metropolitana, Chile. El objetivo es constatar el rendimiento teórico que ofrece la categoría neopentecostalismo —la cual se entiende como una variante del pentecostalismo que resignifica su doctrina en función de un contexto neoliberal— para la comprensión de nuevas formas de religiosidad pentecostal contemporánea al ajustarse a este caso particular, o si, en cambio, exige una categorización distinta, contrastando los principales planteamientos de autores latinoamericanos con el estudio de caso. El enfoque metodológico utilizado incluyó el método etnográfico, entrevistas en profundidad y observación participante. De este modo, se propone que el nivel de especificidad del contexto chileno requiere de un tratamiento exclusivo para su tipologización.
