ALGUNOS DESAFÍOS DE LOS “PROGRAMAS BASADOS EN LA FE” PARA LA REINSERCIÓN SOCIAL EN CHILE

Resumen

En Chile, al igual que en otros países, la religión cristiana y las cárceles han caminado históricamente de la mano por muchos años. Hoy en día, la presencia de las iglesias católica y evangélica es una realidad en casi todo el país. Aunque existen voces entusiastas que argumentan que la religiosidad aportaría una serie de elementos positivos para la reinserción social, existen otras voces más críticas que son escépticas de su naturaleza y efectos, poniendo en duda cualquier efecto positivo que esta pudiera tener en la reinserción. A partir de una revisión de literatura, este artículo analiza las posibilidades y limitaciones de la religiosidad (cristiana) en la reinserción social de personas que cumplen condena en cárceles chilenas, señalando diversos aspectos que requerirían de un mayor desarrollo conceptual y/o empírico con el fin de dilucidar mejor la relación entre religiosidad y reinserción.
